Who are we?
This is an independent site that crawls
other rental sites and extracts rental information
from them and presents it in an interface
that answers your questions faster. We realize that
when you are searching for a place to live, you may
not be interested in "124 Someplace Dr" but rather
in questions like 'What are the places close to the
"University"?' for example. The interface is designed
so you easily find answers to these questions.
How do we do this?
- Visual search: Rental property information from other
sources are crawled by bots and plotted in a map. This
makes it easier for you to filter for the places you are
interested in. You can narrow down on your top 20
choices in an instant, just by looking at the map;
rather than going to a website and searching for this
information, looking it up on a map - a hundred times
before you figure out that only 20 are close to the
University and are your most preferred
- Simple UI: One of our goals is to make this site as
intuitive as possible. Having to process too much information
is hard - you cannot make effective decisions just because
you have many options and a lot of data. You can make
effective decisions when information is presented such that
you can easily analyze it using criteria that makes sense to
you
- Open ears: We are also interested in your thoughts. Feel
free to submit your comments/feature requests etc.. We
will be very happy to improve this service to suit you better
What sites do we crawl?
Currently we crawl these two sites -
rentershotline.ca and
peanut.uwaterloo.ca
Our current service is centered around the city of Waterloo, ON.
In the future we may expand this.
However, we do have some rental information on other cities in
Canada. Feel free to try it out.
